A fight broke out in the recently established Panteka market next to the Nnamdi Azikiwe bypass in Kaduna State, when an Igbo man allegedly named his dog Muhammad. According to an eyewitness, the market was shut down by the Nigerian Police who restored calm and peace after the fight erupted. Panteka mraket is a major spare parts and scrap iron centre which houses numerous mechanic workshops in the state. An eyewitness, by name Musa Aminu reportedly said that the dilemma began when one Muhammed bought a dog and supposedly named it Ibere after an Igbo trader close to him. Musa said: “Since the boy named the dog after the trader, the trader had warned him on several occasions to rename the dog, but the owner of the dog Muhammad refused.
